Metabones Canon EF Lens to Micro Four Thirds T Speed Booster XL 0.64x

Metabones Speed Booster XL 0.64x allows full-frame Canon EF-mount lenses to be used on compatible Micro Four Thirds cameras. Its optical design reduces the crop factor while increasing the effective brightness of the attached lens.

The adapter uses a 0.64x focal reduction factor. This helps restore a wider field of view when a full-frame lens is mounted on a smaller Micro Four Thirds sensor. It also provides approximately 1.3 stops of additional light across the lens aperture range.

Without a focal reducer, a Micro Four Thirds sensor captures only the central portion of the image projected by a full-frame lens. This creates a narrower effective field of view. The Speed Booster XL 0.64x condenses the image circle so that more of the lens output reaches the smaller sensor. The result is a wider perspective and improved low-light performance.

Metabones uses an optical system with six lens elements arranged in four groups. This design is intended to maintain image clarity, contrast and color accuracy while adapting the lens to the smaller sensor format.

The adapter body is constructed from aluminum alloy to provide durability without excessive weight. Brass mounting rings help improve long-term resistance to wear. A detachable tripod foot is also included. It features a 3/8-inch thread and can be used with compatible Arca-Swiss support systems.

The Metabones Speed Booster XL 0.64x also supports electronic communication between compatible Canon EF lenses and supported Micro Four Thirds cameras. Depending on the camera and lens combination, functions such as autofocus, electronic aperture control and image stabilization can remain available.

Compatible lenses may also transmit EXIF information through the adapter. This allows supported camera bodies to record lens data together with captured images.

Compatible camera models include selected Panasonic Lumix Micro Four Thirds cameras such as the GH4, GH3, G3, G5, G6, G10, GF3, GF5, GF6 and GX1. It also supports selected Olympus PEN models and Micro Four Thirds versions of the Blackmagic Cinema Camera and Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera.
