The new KineMAG Nano 1TB memory card is a new generation memory card specially designed for MAVO Edge 8K and MAVO Edge 6K cameras. In order to make MAVO Edge 8K compatible with more third-party NVMe¹-based M.2 SSDs, Kinefinity provides the KineMAG Nano card body to adapt to third-party NVMe M.2² 2280 SSDs, which also provides users with more economical storage possibilities.
Like the KineMAG Nano 1TB memory card, the KineMAG Nano card has an all-metal shell with good heat dissipation, providing an essential environment for high-speed read and write SSDs. The KineMAG Nano card body also has two high-speed interfaces: a sturdy camera-specific interface and a convenient universal USB-C³ interface . When using the card body in a camera, a rugged camera professional interface is used. When copying or backing up third-party memory card materials to the workstation, use the universal USB-C interface, which supports the USB3.1 Gen2 protocol, so that you can copy materials to the workstation at a speed of up to 10Gbps without a dedicated card reader. workstation.
Two interfaces, no card reader required
The KineMAG Nano card body is equipped with two high-speed interfaces. The first one is a high-speed and robust dedicated interface for professional camera recording. It is matched with the PCIe 3.0 interface of the card slot of the Edge body, which not only supports hot swapping, but also can withstand Compared with consumer-grade interfaces, it is used more times, providing a stable and reliable guarantee for the transmission of ultra-high-definition materials such as 8K. The second is to use the universal USB-C interface of USB3.1 Gen2. Users do not need to purchase a special card reader, and can quickly copy the captured data from the SSD to the Windows-based computer through a USB-C data cable. The PC workstation/notebook or MAC simplifies the steps of data transmission.
Efficient heat conduction, all-round protection
The grooves in the KineMAG Nano card body expand the air contact area of the shell, so as to quickly conduct heat and dissipate heat, and prevent SSD from freezing, crashing or data loss caused by overheating.
Widely compatible and easy to use
The design of the KineMAG Nano card body makes the installation of the M.2 2280 SSD very simple. Just remove the four screws at both ends of the card body to safely open the KineMAG Nano card body and insert the M.2 2280 SSD into the built-in PCIe/NVMe groove. Compared with other specifications such as 2242, 2260, and 22110, 2280 physical specifications, 2280 M.2 SSD is also the most widely used M.2 SSD, and there are many consumer M.2 SSD options from ordinary grades to high-speed grades. Compared with most movie camera manufacturers in the market that do not support the use of third-party SSDs, the compatibility of the KineMAG Nano card body provides users with more choices and convenience.
Note : The third-party NVMe M.2 SSD does not have the read-only feature and RAID 5⁴ of the KineMAG Nano 1TB memory card, so it cannot provide these two security features of the KineMAG Nano 1TB memory card.
Note : The writing performance of third-party NVMe M.2 SSDs often cannot meet the requirements of 8K or 4K high-speed, long-term, large-stream recording. Therefore, when using third-party M.2 SSDs, camera recording instability or other material problems may occur . Under normal shooting conditions, only KineMAG Nano 1TB memory card is recommended.
Remarks :
NVMe protocol: Non-volatile memory host controller interface specification, which is a logical device interface specification. It is a bus transmission protocol specification based on the device logic interface, which is used to access non-volatile memory media attached through the PCI Express bus. The NVMe involved in this product can also be called PCIe NVMe Gen3 in its entirety.
M.2 interface: Computing equipment internal expansion card and related connector specifications, replacing the Mini PCI Express and mSATA standards. The M.2 interface SSD involved in this product is an NVMe/PCIe-based SSD, not a SATA SSD.
RAID 5: RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Hard Disks), referred to as disk array for short, is a disk array formed by combining multiple disks. RAID 5 uses redundantly stored checksum information to restore data that may be stored in error.
USB-C interface: the abbreviation of USB Type-C, it is a hardware interface form of Universal Serial Bus. The USB-C interface involved in this product supports the USB3.1 Gen2 protocol, and the transmission speed is up to 10Gbps.
Are there any precautions when installing a third-party SSD?
Common SSD interfaces include SATA, mSATA, and M.2 interfaces. The KineMAG Nano card body only supports third-party SSDs with M.2 interfaces. Please read the relevant instructions of the product carefully before purchasing.
The M Key interface used by the KineMAG Nano card belongs to the NVMe protocol channel. When purchasing a third-party M.2 SSD, please check whether the interface and the protocol channel support the KineMAG Nano card.
When installing a third-party M.2 SSD, please do not plug in the power supply for the KineMAG Nano card body, and beware of static electricity.
Please be careful when inserting a third-party M.2 SSD to avoid scratching the motherboard of the Nano card body.
There is no guarantee for the performance of third-party SSDs used on MAVO Edge 8K, and any frame loss or data unreadable caused by the use of non-KineMAG Nano 1TB will not be able to provide technical analysis and assistance.
